Terms of Use — ShredCast

SHREDCAST

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of ShredCast, an iOS application developed and operated by Jonathan Carden, an individual developer ("we," "us"). By downloading, accessing, or using ShredCast, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use ShredCast. By using the app, you represent that you meet this requirement and that any photo you submit is a photo of yourself.

2. Not a medical device; not medical advice

Please read this section carefully.

ShredCast is a fitness motivation tool. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Body-fat figures shown in the app are estimates, presented as ranges, generated by an AI model from a photo — they are not clinical measurements.

The estimates are intended for fitness motivation only. What matters is the trend over time and consistency of your check-ins, not the precision of any single number. Consult a qualified healthcare or fitness professional before making significant changes to your diet or exercise routine, and before relying on ShredCast in connection with any medical condition.

3. Subscriptions

ShredCast offers auto-renewable subscriptions purchased through your Apple ID:

Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
Subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period, at the same price unless changed beforehand.
You can manage or cancel your subscription any time in your Apple ID account settings (Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions on your device), and cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
Refunds are handled by Apple according to Apple's refund policies; we do not process refunds directly.

4. Acceptable use

You agree to use ShredCast only in accordance with these Terms. In particular, you agree that:

You will only submit photos of yourself, taken with your consent.
You will not use ShredCast for any unlawful purpose, or to create, upload, or share content that infringes another person's rights, is abusive, or violates any applicable law.
You will not attempt to circumvent age requirements or misrepresent your age.
You will not attempt to reverse engineer, disrupt, or misuse the app or the underlying services it relies on.

5. Intellectual property

ShredCast, its design, branding, and underlying software are owned by Jonathan Carden and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app for your personal, non-commercial use, subject to these Terms.

6. Your photos and generated images

You retain ownership of the photos you submit. Milestone images generated by ShredCast from your photos are provided to you for your personal use only. You may not use generated images to misrepresent facts about a third party, or in any way that could deceive others into believing they are unedited photographs of a real physical state.

7. Limitation of liability

ShredCast is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Jonathan Carden will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, arising from or related to your use of the app, including reliance on body-fat estimates or generated images.

8. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the District of Columbia, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

9. Changes to these Terms

We may revise these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of ShredCast after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
